At the next vegan meet we will be screening the documentary Meat the Truth in association with FIAPO (Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations), IYCN (Indian Youth Climate Network) and 350.org. 350.org is an international campaign dedicated to building a movement to unite the world around solutions to the climate crisis–the solutions that science and justice demand.
There have been several high-profile films which have convincingly succeeded in drawing public attention to the issue of global warming. But they have repeatedly ignored one of the most important causes of climate change, namely: intensive livestock production. Meat the Truth has drawn attention to this by demonstrating that livestock farming generates more greenhouse gas emissions worldwide than all cars, lorries, trains, boats and planes added together.
The screening will be followed by a discussion and vegan tea and snacks.
